Back in 1992, the WU-TANG CLAN were dropping their first single "Protect Ya Neck" and in the midst of recording their first album "Enter The Wu-Tang (36 CHAMBERS)", which took the hip hop world by storm. 20 years and dozens-upon-dozens of successful group and solo albums later, the WU-TANG are still packing em in at live shows across all the country. I saw the WU back in 2010, which I previously posted about (link), but Method Man and the RZA missed that appearance. Would they make it this time around?

I buy a lot of music. Unlike a lot of people, I still buy CDs and vinyl records. I certainly don’t have to, I mean there’s so much bootlegged shit on the Internet that you can get anything you want for free. But I buy the music that I like because that’s how the artists earn a living, so supporting the artists is the right thing to do. This is my top ten list of albums I liked in 2010, albums I gladly forked over my hard earned cash for.

For the first time in my life, I finally got to see the Wu-Tang Clan in concert (well, most of the Clan, anyways). The scene was utter and complete chaos, a wild assed party with more than its fair share of weed and beer. Underage girls with black "X"s on the back of their hands smoking blunts. As I was going through my clothing options this weekend getting ready for my NYC trip, I decided to play a couple records. I pulled out Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon's classic 1995 solo release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and last year's sequel, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, which released while I was in New York last year. I figured they'd be appropriate since I'm packing my Raekwon-inspired "Flying Daggers" sneakers and my Wu-Tang backpack. I also figured I'd take this opportunity to talk about something a few people have asked me about.

Honestly, have you ever seen a book bag as stupid as this? No, no you haven’t. Because this shit right here? Ha-ha, this shit is STOOPID. From the first moment I saw it, I knew it had to be mine. Because c’mon, who in their right mind would walk around with book bag that's got zippers as big as your fist?

In my last post, I mentioned that I'll be going on vacation to NYC again later this month. I'm looking forward to it of course, but there's one thing I dread: all the damn walking. See, being a Dallas-ite means "I drive everywhere," so a week on my feet is gonna hurt. Happens every time I go to NYC. But this time, armed with the knowledge that the Nike Air Max 360 bottom is as comfortable as walking on clouds, I decided to do something about it.
