Sneakerheads already know, but for the rest of you, the biggest sneaker-related news website in the world is NiceKicks.com. In addition to the website, Nice Kicks also operates one of the finest sneaker shops in the country, located on the edge of the University of Texas campus in Austin. The shop is on Guadalupe right next to the UT campus ("The Drag" to locals), so naturally when Adidas partnered up with a few sneaker stores to create a line of College-themed Campus 80s sneakers, Nice Kicks got the call to represent UT.

The Adidas Superstar, aka “shell toe”, is a true sneaker classic if ever there was one. Originally released over 42 years ago, way back in 1969, the Superstar was a low top version of the Adidas Pro Model basketball shoe. A reputed 75% of NBA players in the 1970s wore these on court, including one of the greatest of all time, Kareem Abdul Jabbar. But like many Americans, I didn’t learn about them until 1986.
