It's been a while since I've posted; working 80+ hours a week running my design studio doesn't leave much time for my hobbies. But when a special box shows up from the Nike headquarters containing a special shoe...well, it's time to dust off the blog and make a post.

Last week, I posted about my favorite place on Earth, Moab, Utah. That was a lead in to these: a spectacular pair of 2008 Nike Air Force 1s inspired by another sneaker, the Nike Air Mowabb, which was phonetically named after Moab. I have a couple other Forces from the 2008 "Nike Performance x Perfection" line, including the Wildwoods and the Safaris, but I didn't have these--until now.

If you only know me through this blog, or if you haven't known me for very long, it might surprise you to know that I don't always vacation in NYC. In reality, my favorite vacation spot is MOAB, a sleepy little town (pop. approx. 5000) in eastern Utah, and the two surrounding National Parks, Arches and Canyonlands. It's halfway across the country from me and over 200 miles from the nearest major airport, so it's not exactly the easiest place to get to, but man is it worth the effort.

I think it's safe to say that Kevin Durant has the hottest signature sneaker line in the NBA this season--or at the very least, the hottest and most hyped colorways. The KD4 NERF (which I previously posted here) put Kevin Durant's sneakers front-and-center in the minds of sneakerheads nationwide, but I think the KD4 WEATHERMAN might actually be a better looking shoe. They were a limited release that sold out instantly and are commanding $300+ on eBay now, over three-times the original retail price of $95. But you won't believe how I got mine...

Back in 1992, the WU-TANG CLAN were dropping their first single "Protect Ya Neck" and in the midst of recording their first album "Enter The Wu-Tang (36 CHAMBERS)", which took the hip hop world by storm. 20 years and dozens-upon-dozens of successful group and solo albums later, the WU-TANG are still packing em in at live shows across all the country. I saw the WU back in 2010, which I previously posted about (link), but Method Man and the RZA missed that appearance. Would they make it this time around?

Behold, the Nike ACG Zoom Ashiko Hiking Boot! I've wanted a pair of these $180 boots since they first dropped in 2009 but wasn't able to find a pair in my price range until now. Luckily, I found a pair at a Nike Clearance Center on the ultimate come-up price of just $28. They're perfect winter boots for Texas since we don't get particularly cold--being made of ultra thin Flywire, they're lightweight but not really warm, although they do look hot!

This is not my first post on a Single Malt Scotch whisky, and it won't be my last either. Fact is, I have a taste for Single Malt Scotch. I know most of you reading this don't, but that's because it's an acquired taste. The more you try, the more you learn about how unique each Single Malt is, the more you get into it. But still, since you probably haven't yet acquired that taste, you might consider starting with this one.

My good friend Premium Pete asked me to do a TOP 10 SNEAKERS OF 2011 list over on his blog at SneakerTube.TV which of course I was more than happy to do. It took a ton of work, some consulting from my friends Carlos and Tom, and figuring out how to use some totally foreign blog software, but I think it came out great, if I do say so myself...of course, I'm biased LOL! Anyways, go check it out here.

The 'Weatherman' may have put the Nike KD4 on the radar of sneaker heads nationwide, but the KD4 'NERF' shows Nike Basketball isn't playing around when it comes to making Kevin Durant's signature sneaker line a hot commodity. Nike was inspired by one of KD's favorite childhood toys, the Nerf ball, even going so far as to use the vintage 70's/80's era Nerf logo on the shoe. But Nike didn't stop at just the logo--they went all in on this ultra-limited release.

It's December folks, so you know what that means: photos of the next Air Jordan model are leaking all over the Internets. Unfortunately, I think Jordan Brand took a big step backwards with the new one--not because I think it's a bad shoe, but because I think this year's 2011 model was so damn good. But alas, as the next Air Jordan model prepares to launch, and as Jordan Brand frontman Dwyane Wade laces up his own signature sneaker instead of these, it appears we've reached the end of the line for the Jordan 2011 model. So in honor of the sneaker I've already blogged about twice (here and here) here's a final look back at the Air Jordan 2011.
